• “Here be Robots.” Don’t miss this year’s College of Law Practice Management “Futures Conference” (October 26-27, Atlanta). Every session will have an AI focus! (Here’s an overview by Joan Feldman.)

  • The Legal Marketing Association has identified AI as “The Next Big Thing,” and in 2017 has featured articles and programming on the subject throughout the year. One of my presentations on the subject may still be coming to a city near you. This fall, I’ll be speaking about AI in:

    • Orlando, 10/12 (LMA)
    • Boston, 10/19 (LMA)

  • Manatt, Phelps & Phillips Publishes a newsletter called “Manatt Digital” that often focused on AI. Here’s an example re the Internet of Things (IoT).

  • Beware Yelp and the like, AI is writing fake reviews indistinguishable from real ones. (It isn’t being used by real people YET.) According to this article, the step from here to “fake news” is easy.

  • AI Expo 2017 in Santa Clara, November 29-30 seems like the place to be. Here’s the freshly released speaker roster.

  • There’s an app for that. Drone Guarder has an app that connects to your home security system, and when motion is detected, dispatches a drone to patrol your property. “…the drone autonomously patrols the entire grid of your property using pre-designated GEO Fencing GPS weigh points that stream a real-time video feed back to your phone or tablet via the App.” You can dispatch, recall or control the drone on command. Cool. Creepy?
